Navy Pier

After a wonderful day at Shedd Aquarium and eating some yummy Chicago pizza we took a fun trolley ride to Navy Pier for shopping and fireworks. It took some time to find the stop for the trolley, but once we found where we needed to be and figured out how to get the stroller and Ava on the trolley it was a fun ride! By the end of the trip we had public transportation figured out with 4 kids and stroller!! It was a little cold in Chicago and especially cold since we were at the pier at night sitting next to the lake.

Katie and Ava on the trolley. All the girls were such big helpers - especially with Ava. It took a lot of organization to get a stroller, 4 girls and 2 grown-ups onto public transportation!
Morgan and Lexie on the trolley

First stop at Navy Pier - Build a Bear! While we were waiting for Katie to pick out outfits for her new Dinosaur (from Build a Dino in St. Louis) we decided to build a kitty for Ava! Morgan also bought a mini puppy to match her big puppy at home. And...no kitty is complete without a purple swimsuit!
The famous Navy Pier ferris wheel - and no we did not ride it!
What pier is complete without pirates?

And the long awaited fireworks! We found a comfortable (and cold) spot toward the end of the pier and close to the lake to watch! It was amazing!
It might have been cold, but it was all worth it for this expression!

After the fireworks we started to walk back to the trolley stop, but had to stop and get churros for everyone! I had never had a churro before so it was a nice treat. Morgan and I both had ours filled with strawberry filling! Messy, but yummy! Tomorrow - Sears Tower and Michigan Avenue!
