Technical Difficulties

You know when you have really good intentions to take really AWESOME pictures at a fun or special event and then, OOPS, when you get there something goes wrong? Well.....that happened to us today! Morgan and I participated in a Girl Scout activity with our Daisy troop today that was SO much fun! I had big plans of getting COOL pictures and sharing with you all today, but instead you get to use your imagination. We arrived at the High School at 8:55 am, as planned, to meet the rest of our troop. After registering we were led into the Little Theatre of the high school and sat down to watch actors from "The Beauty and the Beast" teach us different acting techniques. I thought this would be a good time to get my camera out and get pictures of the girls making funny faces and doing tongue twisters. So....I take off my lens, turn on the camera and try to shoot........and NOTHING! What is going on? I charged my battery up last night so I knew that couldn't be the problem. So, I try again......no luck. Well it shouldn't be the lighting. I spent way too much on this camera for it to NOT work in the dark. And then I looked at the screen. "No CF card" WHAT! You have got to be kidding me.....I forgot to put the card back into the camera after using it the last time. It was still in the USB port of my computer at home. So.....no pictures from the DRAMA QUEENS event today. Boy did we have fun though. We got to try on costumes, get a back stage tour, do charades and makeup! Morgan says that the best part of the day was trying on costumes. But, I think my favorite part was sitting on stage with the cast, talking about what it is like to be an actor. They brought out costumes of some of the enchanted objects, showed us how to move up stage and down stage, lighting, backdrops and so much more. Reminded me of those high school days in drama class when we put on that small little play for the elementary students! I think I may have even had a lead part in one of them!! Somehow I don't think that production can even compare to this one :-) And the best part of it all is next weekend, February 16, we will be having Morgan's 6th birthday party at the high school during the Beauty and the Beast character luncheon and then watch the play afterward. How fun is that ? Anyone who attends the luncheon can dress up as their favorite Beauty and the Beast character and get the chance to stand on stage with the cast for one of their songs. I think I am more excited than Morgan is!!! What should I wear??? Anyway....the only picture I have from the day is the one I took of Morgan, still in makeup, when we got home!

Of course I won't make the same mistake twice and I can GUARANTEE you I will have MORE pictures next weekend of Morgan's party and the cast of Beauty and the Beast!
